Education

Mrs. Bessone Cardoso graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law at the Lisbon Classical University in 1990, and completed her professional training in 1993;she is also post-graduated in Labour and Social Security Law from the Law Faculty of Bologna University in 1992. In addition, she completed her Master Course in International Legal Law (International Business Law, Intellectual Property and International Public Law) at the Law Faculty of the Lisbon Public University, as a student in 1997, having completed and discussed her master’s thesis - “Contracts of Use of Computer Equipment”. She also holds a PhD in Information technology Law at the Queen Mary & Westfield University achieved in 2000.

Experience

At the present, Alexandra Bessone Cardoso is Chairperson of ILF - International Law Firms, the Managing Partner and the Founder Partner of a Lisbon Law Firm – Alexandra Bessone Cardoso &Associados,Sociedade de Advogados RL – known as ABC LEGAL.Mrs. Bessone Cardoso is the Business Law recommended Attorney in Portugal by Global Law Experts.

She was  member of the Board of Directors of the International Law Firm, an association of independent law firms worldwide; member of the International Association of Managing Partners; member of the Portuguese Bar Association and various section of the International Bar Association specialising in the law regarding information technology law, public procurement and contracts; among other positions.

Her areas of expertise encompass Corporate Governance, Corporate and M & A; Financial and Banking; Telecommunications, Media and Information Technology; Copyright and Intellectual Property; Labour and Social Security; European and Competition; Automotive and Industrial Licensing; Real Estate and Sports, among others.
